How long have you been at CFS?
"I started in the Foundation Office when it was Westover Senior Services in May 1995 (almost 27 years ago)."
What was your first job?
"Non-paying – babysitting my nephew. Paying – Summer Camp Counselor at Fair Acres."
You just got home from a day of work, what do you do to decompress?
"First, I put some comfy clothes on! After dinner, I like to read or work on my scrapbooking."
What passions do you have outside of your career that your colleagues would be surprised to know?
I love to read, scrapbook, travel, stargaze and spend time with my family, especially my five-year-old grandson, Christopher.
What is one of your favorite aspects of your role at CFS?
"Aside from my job duties and work with the Board and Senior Management Team, over the years, I have been able to see/hear/appreciate the effort and commitment of our employees as they carry out the CFS mission in their daily duties. I love the growth/direction that the company has taken along with the diversity of service lines that help take care of so many of the needs of our clients. I feel proud of the level of quality that is expected throughout the organization and the dedication by our leadership team in order to ensure it continues. The heartfelt stories of interactions between staff and the residents/clients/students give me such a feeling of satisfaction."
It’s Saturday at 6pm during the summer, where might we find you?
"Hopefully on my deck with my family, a glass of wine in my hand and a delicious meal being prepared on the grill!"
Do you have a favorite inspirational quote?
"When God takes something from your grasp, it’s not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better."
What is your why?
"I believe we are all here for some definite purpose and it is up to us to discern what that purpose is and to live it out to its fullest. It takes time, though, and, in my case, prayer to figure it out. I truly like to help people and to be able, through my actions, to make others happy and feel wanted, needed, worthwhile, and hopefully put a smile on their face and bring joy to their hearts. It fuels my day and makes me feel grateful for the gifts God has given me to share with others."
What book is on your nightstand right now? Or what podcast are you listening to currently?
"Anxious People by Fredrik Backman (current Employee Book Club pick)."
