How long have you been with Community First Solutions?
"Since April of 2011."
What was your first job ever?
"Bused tables at Hickory Hut when I was 16. I’ve always had a job since."
Do you have a female role model? Who and why?
"Both of my grandmothers raised large families, but always had a side hustle to make a little extra cash for their families. My maternal grandmother was a seamstress part-time while raising 7 children. She had 14 grandchildren and she taught several of us to sew. When we were younger, she took the time to make us play costumes or fancy clothes for our Barbie dolls."
What three words would you use to describe your leadership style?
"Empowering, Accountability, Open-Minded."
You just got home from a day of work, what do you do to decompress?
"I enjoy cooking and my husband enjoys eating!"
What passions do you have outside of your career that your colleagues would be surprised to know?
"I enjoy planting flowers every spring and also enjoy baking."
Men have their power suits, but what is that “power outfit” or accessory that you feel the most confident in when faced with a big meeting, presentation, or high stakes situation?
"Power suits are overrated. I would rather dress business casual and be relatable to our staff. It might be a hang-up of mine when I was younger, but leaders in suits were not perceived as relatable and easy to reach out to. As our HR Director, I want staff to feel comfortable coming to me for help."
It’s Saturday at 6pm during the summer, where might we find you?
"Sitting on the patio with a glass of wine around the fire pit with my family."
Do you have a favorite leadership quote?
"Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new."
What is a piece of advice you would give the next generation of female leaders?
"Early in my career I worked for a leader who would say “Stacey, just make it go away", I was afraid to make a mistake
so I asked a lot of questions. It’s okay to make a mistake. You need to try new things to learn and grow in your role."
